Youth killed by BMW SUV that sent him flying through the air [October 10 2010]

A youth was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn early Sunday, cops said. The impact of the 12:30 a.m. collision sent 25-year-old Manuel Tzajguachiac of Bath Beach flying through the air, witnesses said. The blue BMW sport-utility vehicle that hit him zoomed away, they said. Tzajguachiac, who was crossing 65th St. near 20th Ave. in Bensonhurst, was rushed by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Roman Ximeyo, 26, a dispatcher for a livery car service based near the scene, said the crash was so loud it sounded like two cars hitting each other. "The guys stuff was on the corner, and he had flown down the street," Ximeyo said. "He was on his stomach on the floor." Police sources said a man surrendered to cops at the 62nd Precinct in Bensonhurst three hours after the crash. He was questioned but later released. Police found the SUV parked on a residential street in Midwood.
