Sandamali leads Lanka to an exciting two-wicket win over Ireland [October 12 2010]

Sandamali Dolawatte made a brilliant knock of 74 to led Sri Lanka to an exciting two-wicket victory with 22 balls to spare in their ICC Women's Challenge mach against Ireland played at Witrand Cricket Field, Potchefstroom in South Africa today.

But it was opener Inoka Galagedara which laid the foundation for that thrilling Sri Lankan victory with an explosive 50 off 69 balls. Dlawatte and Galagedara added 70 runs for the fourth wicket after Sri Lanka were reduced to 35 for 3 in the tenth over.

Earlier in the day, Ireland, electing to bat first, made a modest 211 for 8 in 50 overs with opener Clare Shillington making a top score of 78 off 110 balls with five fours.

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 31 runs in their first match of the ICC Women's Challenge played at the same venue over the weekend.
