Korea pledges support to re-build Sri Lanka [October 14 2010]

South Korea has extended its full support to the government to re-build the country after ending the war.

This was disclosed during a bi-lateral discussion between the Korean Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik and the Minister of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaka held in Seoul, yesterday.

Korea has agreed to increase the current level of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) to Sri Lanka.

Minister Rajapaksa is now in Korea is to meet some Korean Ministers and top officials during his four day visit to the country.

Korea has relaxed its travel advisory recently and the country is becoming a popular tourists destination among the Koreans.

During the discussion the Korean Prime Minister extended an invitation for the Sri Lankan President to visit Korea.. (DY)
