UK to introduce new business visa [October 16 2010]

UK to introduce a new business express visa program for companies to facilitate their staff, who travel regularly to the UK.

The British Deputy High Commissioner, Mark Gooding said at the end of three decades war in Sri Lanka, which is now heading for economic prosperity, the historical relationship between the two countries have strengthen.

He said the High Commission provides extensive market support to British companies expect to invest in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan companies that want to do business in the UK.

Gooding said the British government had taken effective steps to promote bi-lateral trade and investment in Sri Lanka.

He said that Sri Lankan already exported $ one million worth products to the UK annually and the UK companies provide $300 million in foreign direct investment in Sri Lanka.

According to Gooding there are over 100 UK affiliated companies operate in Sri Lanka.
