India assists rail tracks in North [October 18 2010]

Sri Lanka Railways sources said that the laying of rail tracks between Omanthai and Pallai on the Northern line and between Medawachchiya and Thalaimannar that were destroyed by Tiger Terrorists during three-decade long war.

on Northwestern line is to be launched by the Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna next month.

Government of India has committed a total amount of US $800 million in lines of credit on highly concessional terms for the rehabilitation of railway infrastructure in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

The Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna is scheduled arrive in Sri Lanka on November 25 for a three-day tour and Northwestern line is to be launched by the Foreign Minister.
