Reconstruction of Northern railway kicks off  in November

<p>The Indian government is to commence reconstruction of the Northern railway line in November.


<p>The launching ceremony will be held during the visit of Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna.


<p>The railway line between Omanthai and Palai and railway line between Medawachchiya and Thalaimannar will be reconstructed by the Indian Railway Construction Company Limited (IRCON).


<p>Funded by the Indian government the railway lines will be completed under two phases - the 43 km Medawachchiya to Madhu and  Madhu to Thalai-mannar.
