Kilinochchi water tank, a monument soon

<P>The giant water tank blown by the LTTE in Kilinochchi will be displayed as a monument.

<P>Following a suggestion by the parliamentarian Namla Rajapaksa, the water tank in the heart of the Kilinochchi Town would be displayed as a remnant of the destruction caused by the LTTE in the North.

<P>The Governor Northern Province G.A Chandrasiri said the damaged water tank was popular tourist attraction among local and foreign tourists to the North.

<P>“The construction work will begin tomorrow with the assistance of the Army”, he said.

<P>The LTTE terrorists had destroyed the water tank that supplied water to the entire Kilinochchi district.

<P>The wreckages left due to three decade long war in the North have become prime tourist attraction today.
