Rs. 1,177 million to develop Gampaha District [October 22 2010]

Funds worth Rs. 1,177 million are allocated to implement development programs in the Gampaha District. According to the Economic Development Ministry the funds will be mainly utilized to develop infrastructure facilities such as electricity and drinking water facilities, drainage systems and construction of bridges and culverts.

This special initiative is taken as a tribute to President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second tenure starting this November. Development programs under this special initiative will be implemented in all the Grama Niladhari Divisions of the District.

The Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa instructed the officials to complete these development works by November 19. Sundara Gampaha, Ran Aruna Program, and 180 Days Development Program were the main development programs that were successfully completed earlier.
