Over Rs. 159 million spent for differenlty abled [October 30 2010]

The government had spent over Rs. 159 million last year for project to uplift the standards of differently abled people.

Under these projects, medical and housing assistance, loans for self employment and monthly allowance of Rs. 3000 for a family of a differently abled people were given for them.

Over eight percent of Sri Lanka’s population is disabled and ninety percent of tem are unemployed and dependents.
