Karu visits Udul in prison in Ranil’s absence

<P>UNP Deputy Leader Karun Jayasuriya said the negotiations are the only way to settle the present student unrest in the universities.

<P>He made these remarks after visiting the Convener of the Inter-University Student Federation Udul Premaratne at the Welikada Prison today. 

<P>However, the UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe did not accompany Jayasuriya in his controversial visit to the remand prison. UNP sources said Wickremesinghe takes a different stand on Jayasuriya’s support to the JVP-affiliated controversial student union better known as the Anthare.
