Sanga optimistic after losing last ODI [November 7 2010]

Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara said his team’s eight-wicket loss to Australia at the Gabba today would not demoralize his team in any way. Speaking after the third one day international against Australia in Brisbane today, Sangakkara said Australia is a talented team which could not be tight down for long.

“We always knew that Australia would bounce back at any stage but luckily that happened in the last game after we had won the series. The main thing is to win the series and that is what matters to us,” said.

He said bad batting led to his team’s downfall in today’s game. “We were never in the game after losing three early wickets,” he said. Despite today’s loss, Sri Lanka registered its first ever series win over Australia 2-1, having won the first two matches in the series.
