Security tightened during budget [November 10 2010]

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa announced that a special security arrangement has been put in place in parliament in view of the budged presentation on November 22. he said on November 18 and November 19, all rest rooms and lockers will besearched ahead of the budget day. The public gallery will be restricted to invitees only on November 212 and handbags mobile phones or other items will be allowed to the building.

The MPs car park too would be closed and an alternative area would be allocated for parking. The MPs who drive their own vehicles will be able to drive upto mps entrance and use the valet service put in place for the day. A special traffic arrangement will also be in place on November 22, speaker said.
