Government, vehemently dismissing the authenticity of the photograph shown on Al-Jazeera on killing the captured terrorists during the final stages of the battle with the LTTE last year, said it was nothing but a lie.
Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said there was nothing new in the latest video but added version with bits and pieces of what was shown on Chanel 4.
“Al Jazeera showed photographs of bodies and execution-style killings allegedly captured during the final stages of the war in Sri Lanka. But they themselves announced that were unable to verify their authenticity”, he said.
The Minister also noted that it was regrettable that Al jazeera having run this fabricated story while the government of Sri Lanka has already dealt with it and proved it was nothing but a lie
