Sri Lanka fully lit by 2012

<P>The Minister of Power and Energy, Champika Ranawaka  said that the
entire island including the North East would be provided with
electricity by the end of 2012.

<P>Speaking after taking oaths once again as the Minister of Power he
said there was a crash program introduced last June to cut overheads
of the Ministry and this was very successful. “The CEB is a white
elephant and this would be turned around soon,” he assured.

<P>Minister also said that a new long term plan would be introduced by
him on January 1 to make the all other entities of the Ministry
profitable.
