Govt. policy strengthened foriegn relations

<P>External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris told the parliament that the
Government’s Foreign policy has facilitated the country’s international
relations to reach unprecedented heights in recent times.

<P>A large number of foreign leaders are scheduled to visit Sri Lanka to
further strengthen their relationship with the country.

<P>Prof. Peiris participating in the debate on the second reading of the
budget 2011 told the House these state visits would help to further
strengthen our international relations.

<P>The Minister said Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardani, Indian Foreign
Minister S.M. Krishna and Industrial Minister Sri Anand Sharma,
Commonwealth Foreign Minister Alistare Kay and a Malaysian delation are due
to arrive Sri Lanka in the next few days.
