Public sittings of LLRC ends January 2011 [December 18 2010]

Public sittings of the Commission on Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation (LLRC), would be rapped up by end January, 2011.

The LLRC sources said they have invited the UN Residence Coordinator Neil Buhne and Tamil National Alliance Leader R. Sampanthan to testify before the Commission and waiting their response. The LLRC which held public sittings in the North and the East, has given the opportunity for the LTTE cadres in the Boosa Prison and also the people in the Amparai district. “People, especially the Muslims and villagers in the border villagers whose life was under the LTTE threats will be testified before the commission next January”, sources said.

The written submissions can be submitted to the Commission before end of December. The LLRC is to prepare its final report before May 15, 2011.
