Govt. to consider Ban’s request to meet LLRC

<P>The government said the request by the UN to meet the LLRC would be considered.

<P>“If a formal request is made by the UN Panel to visit Sri Lanka, the government will consider it”, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Bandula Jayasekara said.

<P>At the media conference held in New York UN Secretary General has praising President Mahinda Rajapaksa for his flexibility on this issue said his three-member panel would be able to visit Sri Lanka.

<P>He said the decision was taken following a discussion between himself and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
