The Inter Agency Committee (IAC) of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has decided to refer the submissions presented to the LLRC during its sessions held in Colombo and outstations, if requires further inquiry or investigation, immediately to the Chairman of the IAC.
Several decisions were taken at a recent IAC meeting headed by Attorney-General Mohan Pieris.
The IAC was set up to facilitate the implementation of the Interim Recommendations of the LLRC.
The IAC has also decided to implement a communication technology throughout the country to inform the whereabouts of the detainees to their family members.
According to the IAC decisions, instructions will be given to the law enforcement authorities concerning the collection of unauthorized weaponry islandwide.
