The government has decided to stop importing chemical fertilizer to boost local fertilizer industry, Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife H.M. Chandrasena said.
He said new varieties of fertilizer have been introduced to the market by the Sri Lanka Fertilizer Corporation (SLFC).
Minister said the SLFC had introduced a project to encourage one million home gardens and they were given locally produced fertilizer.
