Trains to Fort to Omanthai from end Jan.

<P>The train service between Colombo Fort and Omanthai will resume in end January with the completion of 159 km rail track, which has been constructed up to Omanthai.

<P>Under the Northern Railway Development project, which has three phases, trains operated up to Thandikulam.

<P>In the first phase the trains will operate from Vavuniya to Omanthai and from Omanthai to Palai in the second phase. In the third phase the service will be extended from Palai to Kankasanthurai.
