The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and the Railways Department will deploy sufficient number of additional buses and trains to face the proposed all island bus strike scheduled to take place on January 11 (Tuesday).

Transport Minister Kumara Welagama yesterday condemned the proposed bus strike at this juncture when his Ministry had already assured that an increment in bus fares would be considered shortly. Meanwhile, SLTB, Chairman M.D. Bandusena said at present about 5000 SLTB buses are plying all over the country and steps have already been taken to put 500 additional buses on Tuesday.
