The Government has appealed to the general public to assist over 800,000 flood victims as they are in need of drinking water, mats, bed sheets, other clothing and milk food for children.
“The unexpected climatic change has made the people displaced in thousands. Sri Lankan people are well known for their generous help and hospitality in times of crises situation so we appeal the people in other areas to assist these affected people who are at displaced centers now.
This is the time we need the assistance of the people to help victims" said Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena
