North Central and Central provinces worst affected

<P>The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said that the North Central and Central regions are the worst affected with more than 219,317 families displaced cyclonic weather conditions.

<P>Batticaloa, Ampara, Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa, Nuwara Eliya, Moneragala, Kandy, Badulla, and Kegalle Districts were affected by floods.

<P>The Batticaloa District was badly affected with nearly 482,000 persons displaced.
