President Mahinda Rajapakse has cancelled his visits to flood affected areas due to bad weather conditions in Polonnaruwa.
He had visited the displaced people in Medirigiriya Lankapura Maha Vidyalaya and distributed dry rations among 3,000 people sheltered at the school.
The president has directed the authorities to provide immediate relief assistance to affected people without to normal procedures.
