The Power and Energy Ministry has taken immediate steps to repair the power lines damaged due to heavy rains.
Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said the most of the power lines in Ampara and Batticoloa are damaged and the CEB has taken steps to repair the lines, which are damaged due to falling of trees on power lines.
He said the damaged caused to the CEB was yet to estimate and in some areas power supply has been disconnected due to public safety
