Govt. distributes Indian relief

The authorities have started distributing flood relief donated by the Indian government among the displaced people, today.

The Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha visited flood hit Batticaloa district to inspect the distribution of dry rations, in the morning.

The consignment consisting sugar, pulses and salt, Meals Ready to Eat, malted food, infant milk power and milk powder blankets, attresses, bed sheets and water purification kits and tablets arrived the country yesterday evening.
