Sanath slaps Aravinda once more, hits 71 again [January 17 2011]

World  Cup discard Sanath Jayasuriya continued his fine form with another blistering knock of 71 for Ruhuna in their Sri Lanka Cricket conducted Inter-Provincial tournament match against Sabaragamuwa at SSC grounds today.

His reached 50 in just 31 balls, punishing the penetrative Sabaragamuwa attack which included Lasith Malinga, Chaminda Vaas and Thilina Thushara.

It was Jayasuriya’s second successive big innings in the one-day tournament inside three days, having struck a magnificent 97 against Uva at the same venue on Saturday.

The master blaster, who has been overlooked for Sri Lanka’s 15-member squad for the ICC World Cup, has continuously proved the decision of National selectors, headed by Aravinda de Silva wrong, showing a good form in the tournament.
