Displaced people return home [January 18 2011]

The number of displaced people in welfare centres has been reduced to 150,000 with improved weather conditions in the country.

The Disaster Management Center said the situation in the two flood hit provinces has come back to normal as flood receding gradually. Accoridng to DMC 4,493 families are sheltered in 80 welfare camps.

The floods and earth slips have killed 43 people and injured 51. The total number of 5,594 houses are completely damaged and 22, 483 are partly damaged.
