Medicare 2011 at BMIC [January 20 2011]

The three-day Medical Equipment and Pharmaceutical Exhibition -`Medicare 2011’, conducted by the Ministry of Health will be held at the BMICH from March 4 to 6.

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena will be the chief guest, while large number of medical representative from China, Singapore, India, Pakistan and several other countries will attend the exhibition.

The objective of conducting such exhibition is to enlightening the general public about new development and infrastructure laid out by the Government to improve the countries health sector during the past several years.

Western Province, Health Minister Jagath Angage said visitors at the exhibition will also be educated on the state-of-the-art healthcare technology, proper disease prevention methods, effective treatment methods, the best services available in hospitals and laboratories in the country.

In addition to the Healthcare Exhibition, visitors could view sophisticated medical equipment and pharmaceutical at the exhibition. Health seminar programs for professionals in the field of medicine and general public, especially for school children will also be conducted during the exhibition period.

He said the exhibition will also change the misconception of our citizens seeking treatments abroad by passing our experts for minor ailments.

The exhibition will be an ideal opportunity for the healthcare service providers in the private sector to showcase their latest products and services to general public and industry professionals.
