Lanka President not schedule to meet UN Panel [January 21 2011]

The United Nations has confirmed that the UN Secretary General Ban ki-moon’s expert panel would not meet the President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is now in the US.

UNSG’s Spokesman Martin Nesirky has told the Inner City Press that President Rajapaksa has no appointment with the UN as he is on a private visit to the US.

“ We understand the Sri Lankan President has no business scheduled at the UN. He is not set to meet any of the Panel members, nor anyone else from the Secretariat,” an e-mail from Nesirky stated.
