SLA runs former LTTE farms

<P>Sri Lanka Army (SLA) has taken over the major farms belonged to LTTE in the North, Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya said.

<P>The former LTTE farms – Udarakattikulam (fruits), Vellankulam (banana)and Kajuwatta in Nachchikuda- are now developed with infrastructure
and control by soldiers.

<P>“ We are reaping harvest in Udaraykattukulam. It produces quality oranges and we have plans to export the vegetables and fruits grown in these farms”, he said.
