Wet weather to disrupt Premier League Cricket [February 02 2011]
The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) organized Premier League Tier ‘A’ three day cricket tournament will commence tomorrow (3) with the prevailing bad weather threatening to spoil the first week of matches. The feature in this year’s competition will be the three foreign players from England who will represent CCC in their opening fixture against Tamil Union at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval.
CCC have got down three foreign players all from Leicestershire including former England Under 19 player Josh Kobb who is set to open the batting along with South African born Jacques Du Toit who was the leading run getter in last year’s county season. The third player who will turn out for the CCC this season is 24-year-old right arm off spinner Jigor Nike who could also be a solid middle order batsman.
Meanwhile Colts CC will take on Bloomfield at Havelock Park while Ragama CC will be up against the SSC at Reid Avenue in the other two matches scheduled for this week.
