Over 900,000 affected due to floods

<P>Over 900,000 people in the northern and eastern parts of the country have been affected and seven people died due to floods. Two people re
missing.

<P>According to the Disaster Management Center (DMC) the Eastern, North,and North Central Provinces are badly hit by floods, which displaced over 139,391 persons from 37,673 families.

<P>They are accommodated in 430 temporary evacuation centers in 11 districts. The road networks in these districts are damaged, inundated and impassable.

<P>Over 895 houses are fully damaged and 6,787 houses are partially damaged. The government has set up 505 welfare centres
