Name of popular teledrama actor Jayantha Ketagoda is to be gazetted tonight as the replacement for DNA’s Parliament seat made vacant after Sarath Fonseka was imprisonment. Additional Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that the necessary gazette notification would be made today.
Originally, it Lakshman Nipunarachchi’s name that was put forward as the replacement for Fonseka. However, he did not take oaths within the specified three-month period and his appointment was automatically cancelled as he has not attended Parliament for three consecutive months.
