The government has allocated a further 70 million rupees to provide relief to those affected by floods. At the SLFP Central Committee meeting presided by President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday had also decided to form a Presidential Task Force to rehabilitate the areas affected by floods.
The Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities has launched a programme to reconstruct approximately 10, 000 destroyed houses in affected districts, under the instructions of President.
A donation of each Rs.50, 000 will be given to Samurdhi Families, affected by the natural disaster.
