‘No move to curtail free education’ – President Rajapaksa [February 08 2011]

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the government would not curtail the free education system and would support children to continue their education.

Addressing a ceremony held in Wellawaya in the morning to distribute school equipment among children, he said investing in education was an investment for future and the government would provide all necessary support and create a good environment for children to study.

President Rajapaksa said there are no moves by the government to curtail free education in the country and the government had invested its majority of funds in health and educations sectors.
