Murali to take up Aussie coaching job [February 08 2011]

Legendary off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan is set to sign on as a guest spin coach of Cricket Australia to help mould the country's next generation of young spinners into champions.

Muralitharan is set to spend several weeks at the Brisbane-based Centre of Excellence in June for intensive training with rising Australian spinners.

However Muralitharan today revealed that he has not yet finalized his coaching stint with Cricket Australia as his contract would clash with his international and other assignments.

The World record holder of both Tests and one day internationals has already decided to retire from the shorter version of the game after the 2011 World Cup but will continue to play domestic Twenty20 cricket.

Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne and former Pakistan off spinner Saqlain Mustaq are the other two international players who had brief guest stints at the Centre of Excellence.
