First Indian ferry to arrive SL [February 11 2011]

Commencing the private ferry service between India and Sri Lanka, the first ferry carrying 300 metric tones of goods will arrive Colombo tomorrow.

The ferry service was stopped for two years due to the conflict in Sri Lanka. According to sources, M V N Raj TPN 241 is carrying food items like onion, potato, corn, and turmeric.

The ferry will take 24 hours to reach Colombo.
