US gives $1.6 m more for flood relief

<P>The United States has announced an additional $ 1.6 million to restore livelihood in flood hit areas.

<P>The Ambassador Patricia A. Butenis announced the grating of additional relief assistance yesterday.

<P>“This grant will help people restart their livelihoods and re-establish normal and healthy working lives after the floodwater recede”, she said.

<P>Including the additional flood relief, the total US flood aid amounts to $ 2.7 million.
