Serving masses govt.’s top priority – President [February 16 2011]

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the government would not abandon its responsibility of uplifting the lives of people and does not have any hidden agenda to gain any political mileage by serving people.

He made this remark at the foundation laying ceremony of the ‘Jana Sevana’ hosuing project that aimed to build over one million houses, held a short while ago.

President Rajapaksa said those who were living in shanties did not want to stay in shanties forever and the government do its best to improve their living conditions by giving them decent living environment.
