Chinese Credit Facility of USD 25 million for Uva Udanaya project [February 16 2011]

China has agreed to provide the credit facility of USD 24,928,046.88 through the Exim Bank of China to meet the 85 percent cost of ‘Lighting Sri Lanka Uva Province project’ under the Uva Udanaya.

The money will be utilized to provide 100 percent electricity coverage in Monaragala and Badulla Districts.

On a proposal made by President the Cabinet approval was granted to enter into this loan agreement with the Exim Bank of China.

The Balance 15 percent the total project cost of USD 29,327,113.98 will be financed by the government.
