Transport Minister Kumara Welgama today assured the modernised coastal railway line between Galle and Matara will be extended from Galle to Colombo before the end of this year.
He said Matara-Kataragama railway line will also be constructed within the next two years. He said railway line modernised program will be extended up to Kandy and Anuradhapura before long. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of the Galle-Matara express rail service today.
