Indian fishermen remanded until February 28

<P>Point Pedro Magistrate today ordered the 112 fishermen who had been fishing in Sri Lankan waters to be remanded until February 28. These fishermen, along with their trawlers, were apprehended by Sri Lankan fishermen annd were handed over to Point Pedro Police which produced them before the Megisstrate today. 

<P>Prior to their produce in courts, the Police made arrengements to take them to Point Pedro hospital for medical tests. Poice said such action was taken as a precationary messure as there could be subsiquent allegations on assault.
