Drunken group ordered to kneel down at Adam’s Peak [February 17 2011]

Nawalapitiya Police today apprehended a group of around 60 people who had attempted to climb Adam’s Peak under the influence of liquor. At the time of arrest, they has 15 bottles of arrack in their possession.

After being apprehended by the Nawalapitiya Police and the cops had asked the group members kneel down till they were sober. Reports said the group, which included a priest and a few individuals who claimed that they are soldiers, had come from Polgahawela on a holiday tour. The police ordered them to destroy the remaining bottles of arrack before they were discharged after severe warning.
