Jaffna fishermen lament

<P>The Jaffna Fisheries Federation claim that the livelihood of Jaffna fisher folks have been affected due to encroachment of Indian fishing vessels into the Northern waters.

<P>Federation President S. Thawaratnam said the authorities should take necessary action to safeguard the Jaffna fisher folks.

<P>He stressed the need of taking steps to prevent the Indian fishermen infiltrating into Lankan waters and poaching in with their powerful fishing vessels. AP
