Parvathi Pillai, mother of LTTE terrorist leader Velupillai Prabhakaran who was killed in 2009, died at Valvetithurai hospital today. 81-years-old Parvathi has been suffering from complicated illness and was undergoing treatment for several months.
Date and time for final rites have not been decided upon yet as her children who are living overseas are expected to arrive. Parvathi Ammal, along with her husband was earlier under the care of the Security Forces at Panagoda after the end of the battle against terrorism. After her husband’s death she went overseas and later returned to Sri Lanka due to ill health and was being cared for at the VVT Hospital.
