No room for separatism - President [February 22 2011]

“There is no room for separatism. Prabhakaran tried that by waging war but failed. Some are trying to achieve what achieve what Prabhakaran failed now through negotiations. I would not allow that either,” President Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

He said he would always talk with democratic parties and leaders on genuine problems of the people but would never allow anyone to gain what the LTTE achieved even through negotiations.

“We are currently having discussions with the TNA. We met twice and the third meeting is scheduled for next month. At the same time, we are also taking to several other Opposition political parties as the TNA is not the sole representatives of the Tamil community,” he said.
