Air Vice Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama is tipped to be the 13th Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Commander from February 28. He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetilleke, who also functions as the acting Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
Air Vice Marshal Abeywickrema is the current Deputy Chief of Staff and Director Logistics at the SLAF. In recognition of his distinguished service career he was awarded the ‘Uttama Seva Padakkama’. He has been decorated with the ‘Rana Wickrama Padakkama’ for bravery displayed in the face of the enemy. Air Vice Marshal Abeywickrama also holds a M.Sc in Management and a M.A. (London).
