Kamande says Kenyans will opt do or die approach [February 28 2011]

Kenya captain Jimmy Kamande said that every member of the team needs to perform well if they are to stay alive in the 14 nation competition. "We need all eleven players to perform, which has not happened in the last two matches, especially against New Zealand.

On that occasion Kenya were shot out for just 69 runs against New Zealand in their opening match of the tournament. "We are still in this tournament and what we need is to do well against Sri Lanka which is a very strong team. Kamande also noted that they need to grab every situation and take the maximum from every opportunity. "There have been good situations but we spoiled them and it showed a lack of experience. Sri Lanka has some good spinners so we have to deal with them, and fight well."

Kenya of course qualified for the 2011 World Cup after finishing fourth at the ICC World Cup qualifying tournament in 2009. They can be really proud of their achievements as an Associate Member having created some of the biggest upsets in World cricket.
