SLAF made great contribution to victory over terrorism - President

<P>Protecting human life is more important than saving machines,
President Mahinda Rajapaksa said at the 60th anniversary celebrations
of the Sri Lanka Air Force in Colombo yesterday.

<P>Highly commending the SLAF contribution to the victory in the
humanitarian operation, the President said if the SLAF did not take
all measures to protect civilian lives during air attacks the war
would have been more difficult for the Forces.


<P>“Don’t waste your valuable training and experience. Use it to develop
the Nation,” he said, adding that the Government would not betray the
victory achieved over terrorism under any circumstances.
